Cold snap leaves hundreds without power across the area

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A cold snap across South Florida has left hundreds of residents without electricity, with some customers still waking up in the dark days after strong winds and increased energy demand triggered outages across the region.

As of early Tuesday morning, more than 700 customers in Palm Beach County were without power, according to outage-tracking website PowerOutage.us. Nearly 125 customers in Martin County and about 45 in Indian River County were also affected.
