GL Homes has closed on the first phase of a 192-acre land acquisition in the City of Westlake, increasing its total land holdings within the master-planned municipality to more than 300 acres. The newly acquired property will serve as the foundation for Silver Lake, a planned single-family residential community expected to include more than 1,000 homes.
The site was purchased from Minto Communities USA, the master developer of Westlake. The total purchase price for the 192-acre property is $80 million. Seller financing has been arranged for the second phase of the transaction, which is expected to close next year. The acquisition follows GL Homes’ 2024 purchase of a 120-acre parcel for $29.4 million, which was later consolidated through a land swap with Minto to create a contiguous development site.
According to the developer, the combined parcels allow for coordinated planning across the site, including internal roadways, residential layouts, and shared amenity spaces. The Silver Lake project would further expand GL Homes’ presence in Palm Beach County, where the builder has previously completed communities such as Valencia Del Mar and Lotus Edge.
