West Palm Beach residents witnessed the quick apprehension of a home invasion suspect by local police and their K9 unit this past week. According to the West Palm Beach Police Department, officers responded to a report of a robbery around 11:20 a.m. on the 600 block of 50th Street. An unexpected return by the homeowner led to the discovery of an intruder, subsequently resulting in an assault before the perpetrator fled with a duffel bag of stolen items. Vigilant bystanders pursued the individual, managing to retrieve the bag before law enforcement arrived.
The response from law enforcement was swift. A perimeter was established while a K9 officer and detectives followed a track leading them to 23-year-old Zieare Peavy in the vicinity of the 600 block of 47th Street. The suspect was apprehended without further incident. The West Palm Beach Police Department conveyed that Peavy was taken to the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center.
