A private jet had to make an emergency landing at Palm Beach International Airport on Feb. 10, 15 minutes after taking off from North Palm Beach County Airport after hitting multiple deer.
There were seven passengers aboard the plane when it took off from North County, set in a wooded area along the Beeline Highway northwest of Palm Beach Gardens. The Federal Aviation Administration reported there were no injuries as the pilot safely landed the aircraft. Its destination was Cincinnati.
“We are going to declare an emergency,” the pilot told air traffic control at PBIA at about 7:20 p.m. that day. “We hit about four or five deer on the nose gear and possibly on the wings. Can you let (North County Airport) know there are deer on the runway?”…
