GREENACRES — The family-owned grocery chain Tapatia Supermarkets has unveiled its sixth store in Palm Beach County and its second in its western communities, a region that a growing number of Hispanics are calling home.
The 17,000 square-feet Greenacres store, on Jog Road near 10th Avenue North, offers a wide variety of Latin American and Caribbean products. It also features seafood and meat counters, a café with a bakery and “La Cocina,” a hot food bar.
Caled and Yuma Hamed and Jesus Gamarra opened the first Tapatia in 2005 in West Palm Beach. At that time, Tapatia mostly sold products from Central America, Gamarra said. Now their seven locations stock their aisled with products, produce and meats from almost every country in Latin America…
