Ex-CEO of Caterpillar dealerships arrested after pointing loaded gun at Palm Beach Police

PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Palm Beach businessman is facing felony charges after police say he pointed a loaded handgun at officers during a welfare check Monday night.

According to the Palm Beach Police Department, the investigation began when a family member reported to the station and told police that she was afraid to return to the home of 57-year-old Douglas “Doug” Fabick due to his mental state, intoxication, and his access to weapons.

Fabick served as CEO of Fabick Cat, a chain of Midwest regional dealers for Caterpillar, for 22 years before his dismissal in 2022…
