Pepper spray deployed during Glades Central High campus brawl; fire rescue responds

BELLE GLADE, Fla. (CBS12) — A fight at Glades Central High School on Thursday led to the use of pepper spray and a medical response, echoing a similar chaotic scene at Lake Worth High School last fall, where dozens were hospitalized after officers used pepper spray to break up a brawl.

Families of students and staff received an alert after the fight on campus led to the deployment of pepper spray and a medical response.

According to the school’s message, School Police and administrators immediately intervened when the altercation broke out. Pepper spray was used while officers worked to break up the fight, prompting Palm Beach County Fire Rescue to respond and treat the impacted students. The school reported delays to the normal dismissal process, releasing car riders first, followed by bus riders and walkers…
