Police confirm second death after Riviera Beach shooting spree

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A second man has died following a mass shooting in Riviera Beach.

Riviera Beach Police confirmed with CBS12 News on Wednesday that 25-year-old Dillion Wright died over the weekend following the attacks centered around Azure Estates along Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Wright is the second victim, after 25-year-old John Richard Haliburton III, tied to March 16’s deadly chain of shootings that began just after 6:15 p.m. at the Azure Estates apartment complex, where investigators say about 18 rounds were fired.

Police say the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Tramonte Terrell Gibson, opened fire on a group gathered outside, striking multiple people before running into the roadway and attempting several carjackings.

One of the survivors, Anthony Evans, described the split-second moment the gunman ran into traffic and fired directly into his truck. Evans said he initially believed someone needed help as the man darted into the street, but quickly realized he was holding a gun. He attempted to swerve away, but the shooter stepped up to his window and fired at point-blank range. The bullet tore through Evans’ hand, then into his passenger’s arm and leg. Still wounded, Evans drove himself and his passenger to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach for treatment…
