Palm Beach design board approves South End villa-style project

Palm Beach’s far South End likely will see a new development rise in the coming years, now that the Architectural Commission has approved a 12-unit Italian villa-style redevelopment project on a man-made peninsula in the Intracoastal Waterway.

At its March 25 meeting, the board voted 5-1 to approve the project to replace the outdated Palm Beach Resort & Beach Club at 3031 S. Ocean Blvd. The commission also voted, in the same margin, to endorse 14 variances to the zoning code associated with the project. Those variances now go to the Town Council for approval.
