West Palm Dirt Bike Wheelie Crash Leaves Pedestrian Badly Hurt, Rider Vanishes Into Night

West Palm Beach police are hunting for a dirt-bike rider who took off after a late-night wheelie went sideways and slammed into a pedestrian, leaving the victim with serious injuries.

The hit-and-run collision happened around 11 p.m. Saturday near Georgia Avenue and Monceaux Road. Investigators say surveillance video shows the rider pulling a wheelie right as the pedestrian is struck. The rider kept going and never came back, according to police. The injured pedestrian was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives have released a physical description of the rider and the bike and are asking neighbors, drivers and businesses in the area to check any cameras that might have caught the crash or the suspect speeding away.
