Federal investigators are examining corroded, loose components from the helicopter that crashed into a Boynton Beach warehouse March 23, killing a flight instructor and his student.
The nuts on some of the mechanical parts allowing the pilot to steer the helicopter were loose enough to be turned by hand, the National Transportation Safety Board said this week in a preliminary crash report.
Investigators noted corrosion on those nuts. Tubes and rods connecting cockpit controls to blade controls were also found separated at the crash site…
