Routine backpack search finds butterfly knife, pocket taser at Palm Beach Central High

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A 19-year-old student was apprehended at Palm Beach Central High School after being discovered with a butterfly knife and a pocket taser during a routine search.

According to the arrest report, Dylan Alvarez was found with a butterfly-style knife and a pocket taser in his backpack during a routine school search on Thursday.

Officials said that the knife had a blade measuring approximately 4 inches, with an overall length of 9 inches…
