Scattered rain from earlier this morning left a bunch of little boundaries that storms are trying to form on through the Flint Hills. This will be rather spotty and feed off the moisture/rich air, resulting in locally heavy rainfall.
A stronger storm with hail cannot be ruled out, aided by the daytime heating. The chance is low of this happening farther east through this evening.
Attention then turns to activity that will come out of Southeast Colorado late this evening. Rain and storms will track into western Kansas.
A storm or two could be strong to severe with damaging winds and isolated large hail.
This then grows into additional scattered showers and rainy rumbles over our central counties through early Wednesday.
Lows tonight will be mild in the 60s. There may be a few spots in the upper 50s near the Colorado state line. Some may hold to the lower 70s farther southeast.
Any remaining rain Wednesday morning will wane before the next round gets served up.
Clouds and morning rain could impact afternoon highs and keep them cooler.
New storm development begins to the southwest, near the Oklahoma state line by Wednesday evening and tries to fill in farther north over the western half of the state.
This will turn into another complex of rain and thunder into Thursday morning.
The focus will then be on the central and eastern counties for new shower and storm formation by Thursday afternoon.
There does not look to be as much rain on Friday before Saturday turns more active.
This off and on pattern will linger over the weekend and into next week.
Afternoon high temperatures do look warmer next week with the introduction of many more 90s. The steam of summer is just around the corner!
