WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Scattered showers and thunderstorms swept across Kansas on Thursday, leaving a trail of damage in some spots.
A heavy downpour and 60 mph winds knocked down power lines across Interstate 235 in west Wichita, leaving thousands without power.

In Sumner County, several trees 12 inches in diameter or smaller have fallen.
Javan Wright with Sumner County Emergency Management said most of the damage is near and east of the Kansas Star Casino, including one home where a tree limb crashed through the roof and landed on the homeowner’s bed.
