Competency hearing underway for woman accused in deadly 2025 Wichita crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) — The woman accused of killing a Wichita mother and daughter in a 2025 crash will appear in court this morning.

The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said a competency hearing will begin at 9 a.m. for Clowie McLaughlin.

McLaughlin is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of 42-year-old LaShea Bell and her 25-year-old daughter, A’Niah Bell.
