WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Here we go again. Another windy, hot, and humid day will be immediately followed by strong to severe storms this evening. Highs today in the middle 90s will feel like 100 to 105 degrees when you factor in the humidity. Strenuous outdoor activities should be avoided during the afternoon, and if you must be outside, stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade.
The first of several cold fronts will move across the state today, and storms will form along and ahead of it – over central Kansas – after 4 p.m. and then race east/out of the area by 10 p.m. Large hail, damaging wind gusts, and brief, heavy rain are possible along and east of a Pratt to Salina line.
While temperatures on Thursday and Friday will be a tad cooler, the drop in humidity will be more noticeable making the afternoon(s) more bearable. Both days also appear dry with little, or no storms expected across the state…
