WPD: Shooting victim found in downtown Wichita dies, police investigate

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — One person is dead after being found in downtown Wichita with a gunshot wound, according to the Wichita Police Department.

Around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, Wichita police were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 400 block of North Market Street, near the Robert D. Love Downtown Wichita YMCA.

Upon arrival, officers found a 59-year-old man inside his car with a gunshot wound.

Emergency medical services began life-saving measures, and the victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. But he later died from his injuries.
