After pool break-in, small Kansas town says ‘summer mischief’ comes at real cost

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Towanda is raising concerns about the cost to taxpayers after the public pool was broken into over the weekend.

According to Sarah Gooding, the city administrator, some money and concession items were taken between Friday night and Saturday morning.

She said the damage was minimal, but the pool was shut down on Saturday for the investigation. It is normally closed on Sundays and Mondays and will reopen as normal on Tuesday.
