WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research said Monday that it has opened the Hub for Advanced Manufacturing and Research on the Innovation Campus.
The 170,000-square-foot facility will connect research by industries and government. WSU said the hub will bring together applied research, cutting-edge technologies, advanced materials, digital engineering, precision machining and smart automation all under one roof.
“The opening of HAMR represents a major step forward for Wichita State, NIAR and the aerospace, defense and manufacturing industries,” NIAR Executive Director John Tomblin said in a press release. “This facility was created to accelerate innovation, strengthen U.S. manufacturing competitiveness, and provide industry and government partners with the tools and talent needed to solve the challenges of tomorrow.”
