WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Jake Dunne says today will be just as hot as Tuesday, but lower humidity will keep the feels like temperatures around or below the century mark. Even though no weather alert is in effect, strenuous outdoor activities should be avoided during the afternoon and evening. And if you must be outside, remember to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade.
A few storms are possible this afternoon/evening along and west of a Hays to Dodge City line. However, most areas will remain dry and while a strong storm or two with damaging wind gusts cannot be ruled out, widespread severe weather is not expected.
As the soil continues to dry out, air temperatures will turn hotter. Highs in the lower to middle 90s on Thursday will be followed by middle to upper 90s on Friday and the Fourth of July. When you factor in the humidity it will feel like 105 degrees, possibly hotter, and both Friday and Saturday are weather alert days for dangerous heat…
