This classic Wichita burger joint has been bringing people together since the 1950s

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, one Wichita restaurant has been serving up a slice of Americana for generations.

Ty’s Diner has been a local staple since the 1950s, welcoming customers with its classic burgers, simple menu and unbeatable atmosphere. While ownership has changed over the decades, the diner has remained a familiar gathering place for regulars.

Owner Christen, who purchased the restaurant in 2012, says one of the things that makes Ty’s special is the sense of community. Many customers have been coming for years, and some even have personalized signs marking their favorite booths as a tribute to the friendships built inside the diner…
