Wichita Air Force veteran reflects on decades of service as grandson joins the academy

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — For Anthony Rosas, military service is part of the family business. After years of serving abroad and across the country, he returned to the Air Capital to raise his family.

In 1981, Rosas followed in his father’s footsteps when he joined the military — in more ways than one.

“My father was actually in the Air Force as an air policeman, and it turns out when I joined, I went into police work also,” he said.

Rosas’ first assignment sent him to F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, where he guarded Minuteman nuclear missiles…
