WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A repair project that’ll impact north Wichita traffic starts soon on a historic bridge that honors the city’s strong Native American heritage and neighbors Wichita North High School, crossing 13th Street over the Little Arkansas River.
The City of Wichita confirmed that it’s contracted with Wildcat Construction Co., Inc. to perform rehabilitation work on the Minisa Bridge, a structure on the National Register of Historic Places that stands out with its Art Deco design and decorative touches that include carved busts of Native Americans.
“Repairs will be made to the brick driving surface, lighting, structural concrete, and graffiti mitigation and repairs to the decorative concrete,” the city explained…
