Rain, storms possible Saturday evening, forecasters say

The Fourth of July began with rain showers in some parts of Wichita.

Vanessa Pearce, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said there were only trace amounts of rainfall recorded in some areas of the city, including at Jabara Airport, Saturday morning, though chances of raid were expected to pop back up later in the day.
