‘Keep the faith’: Wichita veterans respond to record-low patriotism poll

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – As America celebrates its 250th birthday, a new Gallup poll found 33% of U.S. adults say they are “extremely proud” to be an American. It’s the lowest reading in Gallup’s trend, dating back to 2001.

Veterans at VFW Post 3115 in Wichita shared their perspective and advice for those struggling to feel patriotic. They say that what makes the United States special and worth celebrating is the people’s constitutional ability to change it.
