Quiet & cooler than normal temps today

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a mild Monday morning across Kansas with wake-up temperatures in the 60s. Later today underneath mainly sunny skies we will see highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s or a few degrees below normal for early July.

After a slightly warmer Tuesday and Wednesday in the lower to middle 90s, shower and storm chances return to western Kansas during the evening. While a strong storm or two cannot be ruled out, widespread severe weather is not expected.

A second, stronger system arriving on Thursday will bring a better chance of both storms and severe weather to the state. While the exact strength and timing is uncertain, the higher chances will begin across north and west Kansas during the afternoon and then move southeast into the Wichita area Thursday evening and/or night…
