2023 Dodge City Halloween party shooter found guilty of murder

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A man on trial for a pair of killings at a 2023 Halloween party in Dodge City was convicted last week.

The Ford County Attorney’s Office said Monday that after a seven-day trial and about five hours of deliberations, a jury found Ricardo Cadena-Garcia, 39, guilty of two counts of intentional second-degree murder in the shooting deaths of Abraham Morales-Santos and Antonio Cabrera. Prosecutors had charged him with capital murder, but jurors opted for the lesser offense.

The jury also found Cadena-Garcia guilty of attempted voluntary manslaughter and reckless battery for injuring two others, including a man working security at the bar.
