One dead after crash; part of US Highway 50 closed in central Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A man is dead after a crash on U.S. Highway 50 between Walton and Peabody on Monday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a pickup truck traveling east crossed the center line for an unknown reason and hit a semi head-on. The crash happened about 6 p.m.

The KHP said the driver of the pickup, 49-year-old Gerado Mendoza, from Marion, died from his injuries. The semi driver was not hurt.
