WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Last night’s storms are exiting the area, and the day ahead will be dry, hot, and humid. Underneath mainly sunny skies temperatures will top out in the middle to upper 90s. When you factor in the humidity, it will feel like 100 degrees, possibly hotter and strenuous outdoor activities should be avoided this afternoon.
The next batch of storms will move out of Colorado and Nebraska and into western Kansas this evening. Expect the activity to arrive in the Wichita and Salina areas after midnight. Like last night, some storms will be severe with damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, heavy rainfall, and small hail, especially along and south of I-70.
A third round of storms on Friday afternoon and evening may also be strong, if not severe. The better chances will be along and southeast of a Dodge City to Salina line. A few storms are possible on Saturday, but mainly across south central and southeast Kansas…
