WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) — Demolition has begun at the former Chester Lewis Academy in northeast Wichita, one of Wichita’s oldest school buildings.
The building was also once the home of Mathewson Junior High School and later Northeast Magnet High School.
City inspection crews found damage to the school late last year, including mold, air quality issues, and cracks forming inside and outside the building.
