It’s official: Wichita leaders sign agreement with new sister city

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The paperwork was signed on Wednesday to make Chihuahua, Mexico, Wichita’s newest sister city.

Leaders from Wichita and Sedgwick County came together at the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom to make the five-year agreement official.

The city said that creating this bond will deepen Chihuahua and Wichita’s shared aerospace legacy. The agreement includes plans to establish a Binational Aerospace Cooperation Committee to create training, exchange programs and scholarships for university students in both countries.

With the sister city designation, leaders from both locations will also be able to conduct diplomatic visits…
