Judge rules on case of killing on transit bus in Kansas

SEDGWICK COUNTY— A man charged in connection with a fatal shooting on a bus in Wichita will face a trial.

On Friday, Judge Kathleen Watson ruled that there is enough evidence for 34-year-old Travis Finney to stand trial in the fatal October shooting death of 54-year-old Reginald Griffith who was a passenger aboard a Wichita Transit bus., according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office.

Just after 3:30 p.m. October 16, police responded to a report of a shooting at South Meridian and West Burton in Wichita. When officers arrived, they found a 54-year-old Reginald Griffith suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Sedgwick County EMS pronounced him deceased on scene.

Investigators determined that both Finney and Griffith were passengers on the bus and knew each other…
