The developer of apartments being built at the Genesis Sports Complex in Goddard received approval this week for incentives for the second phase of the project, which will add 72 units.
The first phase, with 108 units, is scheduled to be finished next spring. Work on the next phase will begin no later than March and will be finished by December 2028, according to the agreement signed by Rodney Steven II and approved by the Goddard City Council on Tuesday.
That agreement includes a 20-year waiver of property taxes through a combination of industrial revenue bonds and an economic development grant, waiver of some city fees and reimbursement of others, and special assessment financing for eligible public infrastructure. The project will qualify for sales tax exemption on eligible construction costs.
