A new pizza chain that opened in Wichita this week has double entendre to spare

Wichita’s newest pizza joint quietly opened downtown on Wednesday — and it caters to those with late-night munchies by serving until 2 a.m. on weekend nights.

Stoner’s Pizza Joint, part of a Florida-based chain, opened its first Kansas restaurant at 645 E. Douglas, which is just east of Naftzger Park. The restaurant has taken over suite 107, which is two doors east of the Eric Fisher Studio that opened in early 2020.

The restaurant serves pizzas, stromboli, calzones, bowls, smoked chicken wings, salads and desserts. Customers can get 10-inch, 14-inch or 18-inch pizzas and can choose their own toppings or select from a list of pre-imagined pizzas such as Hawaiian or Italian steak pizza.

Stoner’s Pizza Joint was founded in 2013 and began rapid expansion last summer. The chain now has more than 55 restaurants in Georgia, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky and Colorado…
