‘You’re not gonna get seen:’ SNAP benefits lagging as DCF lags 2 months behind

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Hundreds of people in Wichita are waiting on SNAP benefits as the Kansas Department of Children and Families struggles to keep up with demand.

In previous coverage, DCF told 12 News it was 47 days behind; now we’re hearing from people who still haven’t received benefits and who say the department is 57 days behind.

“I can’t afford to have my food stamps,” Wichitan Lisa Lord said. “A lot of people can’t.”…
