WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Attorney General’s Office said it will be prosecuting a man charged with killing another man at a western Kansas livestock facility.
At a press conference Tuesday, Attorney General Kris Kobach said the suspect was in the country illegally and had defied a deportation order.
“This case is a graphic illustration of a nationwide problem: the fact that more than 1.5 million fugitive aliens remain at large within the United States,” Kobach said.

Erlin Lagos-Gonzales, 43, of Garden City made his first appearance Tuesday in Kearny County District Court, where he was charged with voluntary manslaughter in connection with the Aug. 31 stabbing death of Adonis Aguilar-Juarez. Prosecutors allege the two men began fighting at a livestock facility near Deerfield.
