Sedgwick County’s district attorney said he sees over $100,000 a month lost through scams against area residents and business owners.
Marc Bennett and other law enforcement officials warned county residents to be vigilant with online transactions and over-the-phone solicitations during a news conference at the Sedgwick County Courthouse on Wednesday.
“Not a month goes by that I don’t see a six-figure loss,” Bennett said. “This is money that someone lost in a transaction where something seemed legit, but wasn’t.”…
