After closing all summer, Derby Recreation Center’s pool is set to reopen after a more than $400,000 renovation.
The Derby Recreation Center, 801 E. Market St., serves as the primary source of fitness and recreation in the suburb, the commission’s superintendent said. The last time the facility went through a major renovation was 12 years ago, which pretty much left the indoor pool untouched.
“We actually have been thinking about (the pool renovation) for many years because we didn’t address it during the large renovation project back then,” Chris Drum, Derby Recreation superintendent, said. “It was time to do it.”…
