WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Jake Dunne says last night’s storms are winding down, and the day ahead will be dry and hotter. Wake-up temperatures in the 60s and 70s will eventually climb into the lower and middle 90s this afternoon, or five to ten degrees above average.
After a warm night with lows in the 70s, temperatures will soar into the middle and upper 90s on Monday. When you factor in the humidity, it will feel like 100 degrees in spots. Gusty winds from the south will offer some heat relief, but strenuous outdoor activities should be avoided during the afternoon.
A cold front will begin its slow journey across the state tomorrow night bringing the first of several rounds of rain and storms to Kansas.
