WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita police are investigating instances of vandalism to local Flock Safety cameras, part of a growing national pushback from critics who view the automated license plate readers as government surveillance overreach.
At the intersection of Central and Zoo Boulevard, all that remains of one camera installation is a severed pole stump. In its place, someone planted a yard sign reading “DeFlock Sedgwick County” and calling on officials to “ban all government surveillance cameras.” The incident follows similar vandalism reported in Derby.
