Three dead after shooting in southeast Wichita, suspect in custody

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A 21-year-old man is in police custody following a shooting that left three dead in southeast Wichita on Saturday.

The shooting was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of East Blake Street, near South Oliver Avenue and East Pawnee Street.

According to Wichita Police Capt. Aaron Moses, officers found three adults inside a home with gunshot wounds. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the suspect, identified as Juan Valenzuela-Silva, is believed to be a family member of the victims. He was initially considered armed and dangerous, but has since been taken into custody.
