Park City building fire causes $150K in damages, claims life of cat

PARK CITY, Kan. (KSNW) — A cat was killed in a building fire in Park City Tuesday afternoon. The fire happened around 2:40 p.m. in the 100 block of W. 61st St. N.

Sedgwick County Deputy Fire Chief Brad Crisp tells KSN the building was used for storage. He says the building was packed, which made it hard to fight the fire.

One person was living in the building. They were able to escape along with their dogs. A cat was killed in the fire. No other injuries were reported.

Crisp says the fire caused $100,000 in damages to the structure and $50,000 in damages to contents inside.
