Fog dissipated by midday but we are left with more clouds for the afternoon. Rain in parts of central Kansas this morning is exiting the region and sunshine is increasing across western Kansas. Temperatures will be a little warmer this afternoon, finally back to seasonal averages, which we haven’t seen in a while during this cold January.
Overnight, cloud cover increases again in advance of our next storm system. Temperatures will not cool down very quickly due to the clouds and another round of overnight fog.
Lows will be in the 30s to upper 20s.
Beginning around sunrise tomorrow, showers begin to develop across portions of western Kansas on the north side of a low pressure center that will slide across the panhandles and into Oklahoma.
The latest data has shifted this system a bit farther south, which lowers rain chances for areas north of I-70 and may put the highest rain potential into Oklahoma instead of Kansas. Still, a healthy wave of rain will favor the southern half of the state tomorrow, with rain reaching Wichita in the afternoon.
