Derby man seriously injured in crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A man from Derby was seriously injured in a crash Monday afternoon.

The crash happened at 2:32 p.m. at 83rd Street South and Millsap Street.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 28-year-old woman from Tillamook, Oregon, was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry. With her was a passenger who was a juvenile.

At the same time, a 39-year-old man from Derby was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox.

The KHP says the driver of the Camry was distracted and did not see the Equinox making a left turn. As a result, the Camry hit the rear of the Equinox.

The driver of the Camry had suspected minor injuries.

The driver of the Equinox was taken with suspected serious injuries to a local hospital.
