The Wichita Police Department Violent Crimes Team has located and apprehended an 18-year-old male suspect in connection to the ongoing investigation into a double homicide. The shooting happened in northeast Wichita on Friday, Jan. 26th and claimed the lives of 14-year-old Emoni Shears, and 19-year-old Jhiquez Roberts, both of Wichita.
A day later, a 14-year-old boy from Wichita was arrested on two counts of felony murder and one count of a juvenile in possession of a firearm in connection to the shootings.
The Wichita Police Department says the investigation is ongoing and urges anyone with relevant information about this case to come forward and assist investigators.
