Bicyclist killed after being hit by vehicle in southwest Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A bicyclist was killed after being hit by a vehicle in southwest Wichita Wednesday evening.

The Wichita Police Department said shortly after 6:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a crash between a vehicle and pedestrian in the 5900 block of South Seneca Street. This is between 55th Street and 63rd Street.

Police said a man driving a vehicle was heading south on Seneca when he hit a bicyclist on the road.

The bicyclist, also a man, was taken to a local hospital by EMS, where he died from his injuries.

Traffic has been blocked off in both directions while detectives work.
