WSU grad drops out of marathon Paris Olympic trials due to injury

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita State University grad was set to compete in the Paris Olympic Trials on Saturday.

Aliphine Tuliamuk went to WSU and won the U.S Olympic Trials for Tokyo in 2020, representing the United State in Tokyo in 2021.

Saturday, she dropped out at the tenth mile because of a hamstring injury. In her pre-race comments, she did say she was not 100% healthy.

While at Wichita State, Tuliamuk was a First-Team All-America in cross country. As a junior in 2011, she placed No. 12 at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
