Two people injured in crash on McLean

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Police say two people have potentially serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash on McLean Boulevard near Central. It happened over the noon hour on Monday in the 800 block of N. McLean.

Police say two Ford Escapes, a red one and a black one, crashed. EMS took the two people with potentially serious injuries and a person with minor injuries to the hospital.

“In this particular area on McLean, there’s still a lot of sand from the storm that we had a few weeks ago,” Lt. Keith Fort, Wichita Police Department, said. “Remember that it takes a lot longer time to stop with sand on the ground. Speed was a factor in this particular accident, but keep in mind, until the street sweepers come out, to watch their speed.”

Fort said McLean would be closed for approximately two hours as police investigate the crash.
