WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita fire crews are on the scene of a house fire in west Wichita.
The call came in shortly before 3:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of S. Prescott St., near the intersection of Maize and Kellogg.
The Wichita Fire Department said when crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the house. Crews began battling the fire when a report came out that there was someone trapped inside.

Firefighters searched the home and found no victim. Two dogs and cats were rescued from the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
