WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Fans across the country are remembering the legacy of country music legend Toby Keith after the singer died Monday following a battle with stomach cancer. Tuesday, 12 News spoke with a Western Kansas man who knew Keith before the singer became a household name. He shared memories, including a hunting trip that led to Keith’s first breakthrough hit more than 30 years ago.
